Josephine L. Coggeshall: Lifelong Bristol Resident

The Bristol native and 1944 graduate of Colt Memorial High School passed away on Dec. 11, 2012.

 

Ms. Josephine L. Coggeshall, age 88 of 1 Overlook Drive, Bristol, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Alice F. (Downey) Coggeshall.

She was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, Class of 1944. She worked as an assembler for 20 years for the former Dixon Corp, formerly in Bristol retiring in 1989.

Josephine was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bristol. She is survived by her godson, Matthew H. White and his wife, Sue, of Bristol, with whom she had made her home, and their children, Lisa J. Mello and her husband, Thomas; Patrick M. White and his wife, Valerie; Timothy J. White, and Andrew L. White and his wife, Rebecca; and their children, Maggie, Emily, Ashley, Ophelia, Patrick Jr., Thomas Jr., Connor and Isaiah, and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles A. Coggeshall, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at 10 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary House, c/o St. Patrick's Church, 244 Smith St., Providence, RI 02908 or to the Mother of Life Center, 400 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
