Maria C. Lavey, 92, Retired Blount Seafood Worker

Her burial was private; she is survived by many children and great-grandchildren.

Burial was private for Maria C. (Primiano) Lavey, who passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. She was 92.

She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Lavey, Sr. Born in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Incoronata (Vitullo) Primiano.

Lavey worked for more than 30 years at Blount Seafood Co. in Warren before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Alexander's Parish and a member of the Legion of St. Ann and the Women's Apostolate and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Francis, and her husband, Richard; grandchildren, Richard Francis and his wife Tracey, Michael Francis and his wife Lori, Christina Cote and her husband George, William Francis and his wife Robin, Susan Komiega and her husband Scott and David Francis and his wife Madhuri. Her great-grandchildren are Jennifer Francis, Kelley Francis, Nicole DiOrio and her husband Nicholas, Matthew Cote, Heather Francis, Sean Andrew, Aiden, and Ian Komiega, Priya and Olivia Francis. She was the mother of the late William J. Lavey Jr., great-grandmother of the late Jack Komiega, and sister of the late Adolf and Gilbert Primiano.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at St. Alexander's Church. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Alexander's Church, 221 Main St., Warren, RI 02885.
