Olympia V. DelToro, 93, Retired Retail Clerk

Olympia V. (Proto) DelToro, of 80 Mt. Hope Avenue, Bristol died Thursday, October 24, 2013, in Crestwood Nursing and Convalescent Home, Warren. She was 93.

She was the wife of the late Andrew P. "Bandy" DelToro. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Maddalena (Alfieri) Proto.

DelToro was a sales clerk for 25 years for the former Jo's Gift Shop and the former McCellens 5&10 Store, both formerly in Bristol, before retiring in 1982. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society and the Nocturnal Adoration Society at the church.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Gilda C. Pine, Y. Margaret Machado, Emily T. Proto and Evelyn Manuels and three brothers, Nicholas, Gaetano and Edward Proto.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.

Visitation will be on Saturday morning only from 9 to 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
