Richard A. Bilotti, 60, Carpenter, Wood Craftsman

His calling hours are Thursday and his funeral is Friday from the Sansone Funeral Home in Bristol.

Richard A. Bilotti, of Catherine Street, Bristol, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at Newport Hospital, surrounded by his son, longtime companion and family. He was 60.

Born in Providence, and a lifelong resident of Bristol, he was a son of Philomena S. (Castro) Bilotti of Bristol and the late Armand Bilotti.

He was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1972. He was a retired self employed finish carpenter in the Bristol area. He was a member of the Cup Defenders Association in Bristol and the Portuguese Club in Warren.

Bilotti was an accomplished carpenter and wood craftsman and was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived in addition to his mother, by a son, Kevin R. Bilotti of Dallas, Tex., his longtime companion, Sherri Allen of Bristol, two brothers, Armand G. Bilotti of Bristol and Gary Bilotti of Barrington, two sisters, Sara Jean McShane of Bristol and Jacquelyn Bilotti of Riverside. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Bilotti.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, will be held on Friday, Jan. 10, at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.

Visiting hours are Thursday, Jan. 9,  from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cup Defenders Association Scholarship Fund, 230 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
