Letter: Bristol Good Neighbors Will Serve Poverello Pantry Clients

A letter to the Editor from Bristol Good Neighbors.

The Bristol Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry expresses sympathy and concern for the patrons of the Poverello Food Pantry, in Providence, which will be closing on February 23. (Providence Journal, “Franciscans Forced to Close Poverello Food Pantry,” Thursday, February 16, 2012, page A9.)

We welcome any patron of the Poverello Food Pantry to visit our food pantry and pick up a bag of free groceries, upon proof of their Poverello affiliation. We are located at 378 Hope Street, Bristol. We are open from 8:30 AM to 1 PM Monday through Friday.

Bristol Good Neighbors has been serving the needs of the East Bay of Rhode Island for more than 21 years, serving a hot breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, as well as providing groceries from our food pantry to over 300 local families.

We also provide warm clothing and personal hygiene items.  Donations may be made to Bristol Good Neighbors, P.O. Box 223, Bristol, RI, 02809, or through our web site, www.bristolgoodneighbors.org.
