Arson, Juvenile Assault, Vandalism, 'Escort' for Squirrel

The following information was provided by the Bristol Police Department. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

The Bristol Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

Arrested:

  • Carlos Aponte, of 9 West St., on a charge of first-degree arson, on May 13 at 5:30 am. At his arraignment in Sixth District Court, Aponte was ordered held without bail until a hearing scheduled for May 24.
  • Lucy McCulley, of 8 Kennedy Court, on a warrant issued by West Warwick Police for a felony charge of larceny, on May 13 at about 5:30 pm. She is due for a felony screening on July 15.
  • Kelli McGowan, of 70 Oliver St., on charges of assault and vandalism, on May 13 at about 7 pm. She is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, today.
  • Damaris Britton, of Altamonte Springs, FL, on charges of DUI and refusal of a chemical test, on May 15 at about 1 am. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, today.
  • David Sainplice, of 43 Prospect St., on May 15 on a warrant issued by Sixth District Court for failure to appear at a Dec. 5, 2012, arraignment on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Bristol Police. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, today.
  • Daniel Fougere, of Milford, NH, on a charge of vandalism to Aidan’s Pub on May 16 at about 12:15 am. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, today.
  • An unidentified 17-year-old female, on an assault charge on May 16 at about 10:30 am at Mt. Hope High School. Officers released the suspect to the custody of her mother.
  • Darlene Corriveau, of 25 Thompson Ave., on two charges of identity fraud and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses, on May 17 at about 6 am. She is next due for a hearing in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on July 22.
  • Jonathan Waddell, of 1390 Hope St., on three counts of domestic assault, on May 18 at about 1:30 am.
  • Shane Mandeville, of Swansea, MA, on May 20 on a warrant issued for failure to appear at an Oct. 3, 2012, cost review hearing on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Bristol Police. He was ordered held at the ACI until a scheduled June 25 hearing.

  • A woman called police from the East Bay Bike Path on May 13 at about 11:30 am to report that a male had exposed himself to her. She identified the man as 20-25 years old and wearing a brown sweat shirt and brown pants.
  • Officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy on Metacom Avenue on May 13 at about 6:15 pm for a report of a squirrel inside the store. A note in the police reports notes: “Squirrel escorted out of establishment.”
  • On May 14 at about 8:30 am, Portsmouth Police reported that they had received a 9-1-1 call about a hysterical female on the Mt. Hope Bridge. The subject’s mother went to the scene and picked up her daughter. A Bristol officer responded to Mt. Hope Animal Hospital and noted that Portsmouth Police would be handling the incident.
  • Following a call of fire on May 15 at about 8:20 am, a local officer reported that it was caused by a window-mounted wood stove.
  • Officers responded to Roger Williams University on May 16 at about 3:30 am after a campus security officer reported finding what was described as a “homemade firework” near a parking lot on campus.
  • The Bristol Police animal control officer returned a dog to its home on Goulart Avenue on May 17 at about 8 pm after the dog was found at Mt. Hope Avenue and Jewett Street.
