Bristol Police reported the following arrests and incidents for Sept. 9 through 16:

  • Meryl McGaw, of Tiverton, on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, on Sept. 11 at about 4 a.m. According to police reports, a resident of Bradford Street first called Bristol Police at 12:40 a.m. and said a man and woman had been arguing for about an hour. They dispersed once officers arrived, then returned to the same place and started arguing again at 3:50 a.m. Ptlm. Timothy Gallison reported that he responded to the scene and took an "intoxicated female" unto custody. Judge Robert Pirraglia sentenced McGaw to 30 days in prison with 11 months suspended and 11 months' probation for separate counts of obstructing police brought by Portsmouth Police and simple assault brought by Bristol Police, and imposed a year's probation and a one-year suspended sentence on the new charges.
