Bristol Woman Faces Assault Charge After Allegedly Choking Girlfriend

Bristol police arrest woman, 27, after altercation at State Street apartment.

A Bristol woman was charged with domestic simple assault last Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 18, after she allegedly choked her girlfriend and slammed her into a wall. 

Samantha DeSimone, 27, of 196 State St., was arrested in the afternoon after she allegedly grabbed the woman’s throat with both hands, threw a boot at her and pushed her into a wall outside their apartment. DeSimone also reportedly took her keys and cell phone, preventing her from taking her children to school.

Several witnesses, including a mental health worker, corroborated the story against DeSimone, according to the Bristol arrest and incident reports. The alleged victim reportedly has been in a dating relationship with DeSimone for three years, according to the incident report, but has been trying to break up with her for several months.

DeSimone was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released on $1,000 personal recognizance. She was given a date to appear in court to face the charge.
