Pop star Taylor Swift made a surprise visit to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence Monday.

"Taylor spent lots of time visiting with our young inpatients ... and even played a song for the kids on our 6th floor med/psych unit," the hospital said in a statement. "It was such a special day for a lot of our kids, and we are so thankful to Taylor and her dad for choosing to spend their time with us and put smiles on so many faces!"

Sandra Cariker, of Attleboro, Mass., was at the hospital with her 9-year-old son, Nathan, according to WJAR-TV. Swift visited Nathan.

“It was something we'll never forget," Cariker told WJAR. "My son (has) been talking about it all day.”

Swift has ties to Rhode Island; she owns a home in Westerly.

Taylor Swift did a nice thing. Period. Why is it that people just cannot accept something nice without thinking there is an ulterior motive? She did not bring cameras so it was not a PR stunt. And Thedore- Why shouldn't you be arrested if you are on her property? You don't belong there. That has nothing to do with being nice.

I'd have you arrested if you were on my land to Thedore. It doesn't really matter why she did it. She made those kids happy.

Theodor Barra out of the gene pool. WTF would posses you to see if how fast you would get arrested for being on someones private property? Are you one of those idiots who say "here hold my beer"...then get put on the nightly news for a bonehead stunt?
