Underage Drinking Sting Nets 17 Roger Williams University Students

Portsmouth Police arrested 17 students and confiscated nine fake IDs.

 

Portsmouth Police arrested 17 underage Roger Williams University students Thursday after they were allegedly seen drinking at a local bar. 

Police held an underage drinking operation at two bars, including The Beach House on Thursday evening.

Police say an undercover officer watched as 17 Roger Williams University students, who were all under age 21, purchased alcohol at The Beach House.

After being under surveillance, detectives and patrol entered The Beach House at 11:50 pm.

Police confiscated nine fake IDs during the operation. Several of the individuals also told officers they were the person in the fake ID. 

The following individuals were arrested and charged with unlawful drinking, ID card misuse: 

  • Francis August Szamboti, 19, of Harleysville, PA; 
  • Casey Connors, 20, of Sugar Hill, NH; 
  • Anna Bernath, 19, of Newtown, CT; 
  • Jacquelyn Farah, 20, of Methuen, MA; 
  • Alanna Faughnan, 20, of Mount Sinai, NY; 
  • Sarah Fish, 19, of Marlborough, CT; 
  • Rachel Jones, 20, of Essex, MA; 
  • Caitlin Richard, 20, of Lincoln, RI; 
  • Lindsay Dahlquist, 19, of Quincy, MA; 
  • Sarah Valenti, 19, of Trumbull, CT; 
  • Cameron Hanify, 20, of Holden, MA; 
  • David Balzotti, 20, of Duxbury, MA; 
  • Sean Miller, 19, of Fairfield, CT. 

The following individuals were arrested and charged with unlawful drinking, ID card misuse, and obstructing an officer in execution of duty: 

  • James Michael Carroll, 20, of Needham, MA; 
  • Samantha Palumbo, 19, of Northford, CT; 
  • Colin Pottbecker, 20, of Morris, CT; 
  • Dylan Matteo, 20, of Oceanside, NY. 

All of the individuals were released with a court summons.
