Warren 8th, Bristol 21st in FBI Crime Stats

The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently released its 2012 crime statistics.

Bristol and Warren ended up at opposite ends of a recent survey of violent crime in Rhode Island during 2012, according to an FBI report on Rhode Island violent crime.

Among Warren's 10,584 residents, the local police department reported 19 instances of violent crime, along with 281 property crimes and 71 burglaries reported for that year. There were also 202 reports of theft.

The FBI data put Warren at number 8 in the state according to a GoLocalProv.com post. Bristol ranked 21st out of 37 communities.

Also included in Warren's violent crime count were seven arrests for robbery and two arrests for rape.

One of those two arrests was that of Richard Perry, charged in December, 2012, with two counts each of first- and second-degree child molestation

He remains held without bail at the ACI until a scheduled Oct. 16 pretrial hearing.

Police arrested Jesse Perry on similar charges in January, 2013.

Bristol reported 15 violent crimes in its population of 22,900, resulting in a 21st-place ranking by GoLocalProv.

Property crimes [259] and larcenies [211] led the town's statistics.
