Warren Police Charge 4 With Drunk Driving

Busy few days in Warren dealing with drivers alleged to be inebriated.

Three men and a woman were charged with drunk driving in Warren within the past 10 days, according to Warren police, with one driver facing a reckless driving charge as well.

Joshua M. Crawford, 25, of 55 Washington St., Warren, was stopped on Miller Street early Sunday morning, Dec. 22, after Warren police pursued his vehicle through downtown Warren. 

Crawford also was charged with “drag racing” while trying to elude police officers, carrying a weapon other than a firearm, and refusing to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level.

William DeWare, 60, of 36 Primrose Road, Bristol, was stopped on Market Street on Saturday, Dec. 21, at around 7 pm. He also was charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level.

Phillip D. Barros, 45, of 55 N. Pleasant St., Taunton, was charged with a DUI after he contacted police around 7 pm on Tuesday evening, Dec. 17. He called the police from a nearby house after he reportedly drove his vehicle into the water off of Stonegate Drive. He also was charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level.

Stacy L. Epstein, 25, of 3 Village Road, Warren, was stopped on Child Street at around 8:20 pm on Sunday, Dec. 15. She also was charged with refusing to take a chemical test.

All of the alleged drunk drivers were arraigned and released after being held until they were deemed to be sober with dates to appear in District Court to face the charges.
