A Warren woman, 31, has been charged with the theft of jewelry from the MUSE jewelry and gift store on Main Street last December.

Rebecca L. Taunton, of 69 Union St., admitted shoplifting several pieces of handcrafted jewelry from the store, according to Warren Police Lt. Roland Brule.

She was arraigned on the misdemeanor larceny charge in District Court last Friday, Jan. 10 and released on personal recognizance. Total value of the stolen jewelry was under $1,000.

Police were able to locate the woman using a description that was circulated among pawn shops.

“She pawned some of the jewelry and gave back some of it,” Brule said. “The arrest was a result of an investigation that started on the day of the incident.”
