Bristol Councilors to Appoint Harbormaster, OK Funding for Water Main

The Bristol Town Council meets tonight in Town Hall at 7 pm.

Bristol’s harbormaster, assistant harbormasters and auxiliary harbormaster are up for reappointment by the Town Council at its meeting tonight, Jan. 29.

The meeting starts at 7 pm in the Council Chambers in Town Hall, 10 Court St. 

Gregg Marsili, of Westwood Road, is being recommended for reappointment by Town Administrator Antonio Teixeira and Harbor Commission chairman Dominic Franco. Matthew J. Calouro, of Fales Road, former Warren harbormaster, also has expressed interest in the position.

The Town Council also will appoint a tree warden and members to several boards and commissions, including the Bristol Housing Authority, the Board of Tenants’ Affairs, the cemetery commission, and the Christmas Festival and Fourth of July committees.

Other business includes approving an estimated $250,000 in funding for the second phase of the Poppasquash Road water main project being handled by the Bristol County Water Authority.

That’s Bristol's share of the cost to install a new, 8-inch plastic pipe along the road that would deliver about 1,148 gallons per minute. The current 6-inch, cast-iron pipe provides about 364 gallons per minute.
