Bristol Harbormaster's Computer 'Wiped' of Data, Including Porn

A forensic audit of the computer was approved by the Bristol Town Council; it received a preliminary summary of the findings at its meeting this week.

A summary of the forensic audit done on the computer in the Bristol harbormaster’s office is expected to be discussed at the Town Council meeting on Oct. 30.

But the report submitted to the Town Council at its meeting last Wednesday, Oct. 9, indicates that the hard drive was “wiped” by former assistant harbormaster Matt Calouro, according to a story on eastbayri.com.

The summary also indicates that Calouro, a candidate for the position last spring, used this computer for more than onlinemoorings.com applications, as he reportedly stated previously. It apparently was used for files considered pornographic, according to Town Administrator Tony Teixeira.

The “wiping” reportedly took place on the morning of May 23. Among the files deleted were payment vouchers, references to harbor management commission memos, references to harbormaster equipment, and the inappropriate video clips. Teixeira asked for the audit after Harbormaster Greg Marsili discovered that the computer was “wiped” on the first day he reported for work on June 26.
