East Bay Bridge Commission Meets Thursday

The special legislative board to meet in State House at 4 pm.

The Special Legislative Commission to Study the Funding for East Bay Bridges will meet on Thursday, Dec. 19. 

The meeting starts at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House. 

The agenda includes a staff recap of all outstanding questions and issues, as well as a review of possible funding sources and commission member discussion. The commission’s next steps will also be discussed.

According to the meeting announcement, public testimony will be limited to the presentation topic.  There is also an opportunity to offer written comments for the commission’s consideration. Click here.

The commission, co-chaired by Rep. Helio Melo (D-Dist. 64, East Providence) and Sen. Daniel Da Ponte (D-Dist. 14, East Providence), was established during the 2013 legislative session to allow lawmakers and officials to investigate funding for Rhode Island’s infrastructures, including the Sakonnet River Bridge.
