Flood Insurance Law Changed in 2012 — How Will It Affect Bristol and Warren?

State officials will be addressing changes in the 2012 flood insurance law at a meeting on Sept. 26 in Barrington.

Barrington Town Hall is the site of a Sept. 26 meeting on changes to federal flood insurance laws hosted by the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency.

Revised floodplain maps and a question-and-answer period are part of the scheduled session, from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Termed an "Insurance Outreach Meeting," the session is expected to open with display of the floodplain maps before the 6 p.m. formal presentation to review the 2012 Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act.

The town hall in Barrington is at 281 County Road.
