Mt. Hope High School in Bristol is hosting a free flu clinic from 5 to 8 pm. It is being set up by the RI health department with the help of the Bristol Fire Department.

The clinic is a response to the outbreak of flu throughout the state, according to Dr. Michael Fine, director of the health department.

Fine also said that this year is not a typical flu season. The strain of flu most prevalent is hitting younger people more than older adults.

“But the vaccine we have is a good match for this strain of flu,” he said.

It is not too late to be vaccinated. Fine urges you to take advantage of the clinic.

You do not need health insurance to get the flu shot. But bring your insurance card with you if you have insurance.
