What Got Wiped from the Bristol Harbormaster's Computer?

That's the question that Bristol Town Administrator Tony Teixeira is seeking to answer.

In the five weeks since Greg Marsili started his job as Bristol Harbormaster, two questions have dogged the office: Was the harbormaster's computer 'wiped' clean? And what data may have been deleted?

Bristol Town Administrator Tony Teixeira outlined those concerns before the town council on Aug. 28 in announcing that he's ordered an "audit" of the computer, EastBayRI.com reported.

Marsili first alerted town officials to the state of the computer in a July 11 memo, noting that the computer had been "wiped of all documents," according to the website.

EasBayRI.com also reported that Warren Harbormaster Matt Calouro, who had previously served as interim Bristol harbormaster until Marsili's appointment, told the council that the data used by the department is kept off-site and wouldn't be on the computer.

The website previously quoted Teixeira as saying that he planned to move the data to the town's web servers.
