The doors will provide additional safety and fire protection, said School Committee Chairman Paul Silva. The doors will be installed when schools are not in session but probably no later than after the February school vacation.

M & J Construction of Johnston was awarded the bids for both sets of doors. The doors at Guiteras have a price tag of approximately $30,500. The doors at the middle school have a price tag of almost $28,000.
