Local Favorite Takes Stage Tonight

The 4th of July Concert series continues with local musician Michael DiMucci tonight at 6:30.


The Bristol 4th of July Concert Series at Independence Park continues tonight at 6:30 with a collection of classic hits and Broadway standards, performed by a local musician familiar to Bristol and Warren music fans.

Michael DiMucci will perform a selection of classic songs, including movie themes Broadway show tunes, and contemporary favorites popularized by a variety of composers for the theater and screen such as Stephen Sondheim, Rogers & Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, Henry Mancini, Andrew Lloyd Weber, and others.

A native of Trenton, New Jersey, DiMucci, now relocated to Rhode Island, is a familiar face in Bristol, having done numerous shows at and Cabaret and sing-along performances at . He is also the current tenor soloist and cantor at Saint Mary's Church in Bristol.

DiMucci has also performed with the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Swing and Jazz Band Avenue A, and in the South County Production of works by Gilbert and Sullivan, according to the 4th of July Committee website. He has also appeared in the Opera Workshop of URI's productions of operas such as "The Magic Flute," "The Mikado" and "H.M.S. Pinafore."

Joining DiMucci for tonight's performance are Diane Gualtieri on keyboards, Karen Mellor on percussion and Dick Parent on trumpet and trombone.
