[PHOTOS] 2012 Quonset Air Show

Even before the show officially opened to the public, the pilots were ready to wow spectators on Friday.

With sunny skies and temperatures nearing 70, the weather for this weekend's 2012 Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show was near perfect as performers such as the take to the skies above Quonset.

More than a dozen acts were slated for this year's event, from World War II era planes to jet-powered trucks. (There's even a Jelly Belly plane on the roster this year.) Check out the images and video above from Friday's practice day down at Quonset Point.
