Where's The Cheapest Gas Around Bristol, Warren?
Before you head out for the long weekend, be sure to check for the cheapest gas nearby.
This week, AAA New England estimates that 1.76 million people in New England will travel at least 50 miles by car over the Independence Day holiday weekend, a drop of about 0.9 percent from 2012.
Traffic is expected to be highest on Wednesday, July 3, and Sunday, July 7, AAA reported. To help you save money, Patch is helping drivers find the cheapest gas in the area. Click here for a full-screen view of the gas price map.
In Rhode Island, the price for 87-octane unleaded gas fell to $3.59 per gallon, a drop of four cents from the week before, the Providence Journal reported.
While you can't control the price at the pump, you might be able to control how much gas your car burns. AAA offered these tips:
- Properly inflate your tires
- Avoid flooring the accelerator and slamming on the brakes
- Drive the speed limit
- Keep up-to-date on routine vehicle maintenance
