MHHS takes the Division I South Title

The Mt. Hope wrestling team went 16-3 to win the Division I South Championship for the 2013-14 season!  There last Division title came back in 2010, where they were the Division II Champs. 

Mt. Hope wrestling has come a long way in 4 years.  They placed 4th place this past weekend in the state tournament only 4 points out of 2nd place.  1. Bishop Hendricken 221, 2. EWG 147, 3. Cumberland 145, and 4. Mt Hope 143. 

We had 7 place finishers including Collin Cardoso who took home the State 106 Championship.  138 Christian Torres placed 3rd, 160 Sean Patrick Thibaudeau placed 5th, 182 Jon Perroni 3rd, 195 Dominic Lombardo 6th, 220 Tylor Fenwick 2nd and 285 Jared Sousa 2nd place.

Mt. Hope represented Bristol and Warren all over New England and New York this year, taking the Busby Classic in New York, coming in 2nd at their own Holiday tournament and the Johnston Tournament.  Traveling up to Vermont they finished 4th behind some of the top schools in New England. 

Our JV/Freshman met success this season with 132 Devon Lancaster finishing as the Freshman State Champ, 152 Neil Thibaudeau and 160 Bailey Taft as runner ups.  132 Jose Lima placed 2nd in the JV Tournament and 195 Mike Pavao placed 4th.

This weekend 5 of our Wrestlers will participate in the New England Tournament at the PCTA.
