As a family owned and operated funeral home, William Allen is able to address the needs of all families. Our independent status allows decisions to be made on the local level. We are not required to meet the goals and expectations of a corporate conglomerate that are often far removed from the area and the needs of the families we serve.South Coast Funeral Home has continued to build upon it's reputation for providing compassionate and meaningful funerals to those they serve. In our efforts to improve all facets of service, our staff regularly attends continuing education programs and seminars. These programs serve to keep us informed of current changes in local, state and federal rules and regulations. My Fiancé's grandmother passed, and both Funeral Directors, Mr. Allen and Justin Souza, were so helpful. They responded to the call quickly, and the arrangements and paperwork were done right away. Any and all special requests were granted, and they were willing to spend as much time as his family needed in making choices from liturgical readings for mass to which prayer cards to hand out. They did not force any sort of product or service that my Fiancé's family didn't need. As a matter of fact, they were extremely conscious of the family's budget, and always stayed within it. The service itself went wonderfully. There was extreme sadness, but you could sense the love. I'm so grateful that Mr. Allen and Justin were able to provide us a comfortable place to come together. Not only were they professional, but they were just so friendly and easy to talk to. My fiancé had a special and unusual request. (He is a sculptural artist) He asked Mr. Allen if he could have the rails from his grandmother's casket. He wanted to create a sentimental piece. No questions asked, Mr. Allen said, "absolutely" and he received the rails. I highly recommend working with Mr. Allen and/or Justin at South Coast.
