The Bristol Rescue and Fire Station Headquarters was re-built in 2009 and now serves as an administrative buildingMore and rescue station for the Bristol Fire & Rescue Department. Public services include rescue, lifeline alert, carbon monoxide detection and smoke detector assistance. The headquarters is home to the office of Fire Chief Robert J. Martin. The Rescue Captain is Edward Lima.

Please do not call the fire station for emergencies. If there is an emergency, those in need are reminded to call 911 and emergency services will be dispatched.

Captain Marc Proulx heads the 40 members of the Ever Ready Engine Co. on waterfront Thames Street. AlthoughMore the station was founded in 1881, this engine company was founded in 1924.

This group of volunteer firefighters holds annual events, including a clambake, surf-and-turf dinner and banquet.

Ever Ready serves the Bristol Fire Department with the Dreadnaught Hook, Ladder & Hose Co. No. 4 to cover fire calls in Bristol from Chestnut Street to the Mount Hope Bridge.

Formerly located on Franklin Street, Hydraulion Engine & Hose Co. was established in 1836. In 1988, HydraulionMore Engine & Hose Co. moved to its current residence on Annawamscutt Drive, adjacent to the new Fire Department and Rescue Headquarters. The station, nicknamed The Hydes, is home to Bristol's first firefighting apparatus, dated 1836. The station is also responsible for Engine 1 and Ladder 1.
