Bristol Police allege that Charles Woods, of Demarest, NJ, fled from a local bar after a disturbance and vandalized a holding cell at the police station.
A New Jersey man is due for a pretrial hearing on March 29 following his March 8 arrest for causing trouble at a local bar and vandalizing a Bristol Police station holding cell. Local officers arrested Charles Woods, of Demarest, NJ, on one count each of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and two counts of vandalism on March 8 at 12:30 am following a reported disturbance at the British Beer Company on State Street. According to police reports, officers found Woods at Colt Andrews School, after a bartender told them that Woods had fled the scene. While in holding cell 2 at the station, Woods put his shirt in the toilet and later threw the wet shirt against the door, according to police reports. Officers also reported seeing Woods …

Portsmouth Police reported the Jan. 3 arrests of David Welch, 41, of Bristol, and his son, a Middletown resident.
Bristol Police assisted officers from Portsmouth in the arrest of a father and son on charges of stealing handguns and $25,000 worth of jewelry from a Portsmouth residence. David Welch, 41, of Bristol, and his son, Justin Welch, of Middletown, are both charged with breaking and entering and larceny. A bail hearing is scheduled for David Welch for Jan. 15 in Second District Court. No further court hearings had been scheduled for Justin Welch by Monday afternoon. The arrests stem from an incident that occurred on Dec. 26 on Mitchell's Lane in Portsmouth. Portsmouth Police say thieves broke into the home and stole jewelry and firearms. The Warren Police Department reported the following arrests: Karen King, 40, of 36 Congregational St., Bristol, surrendered at police headquarters on Dec. 11 in response to a misdemeanor charge of passing fraudulent checks. On Dec. 11 at about 12 pm, a caller reported that a blue sedan had run off the road at Market Street and hit a pedestrial before leaving the scene. Officers could not locate the vehicle or the pedestrian. Officers reported the Dec. 15 arrest of Jennifer L.
