How much is too much to spend on children and teens? We want to hear your thoughts. What do you plan to spend?

As the holiday shopping season goes into full swing, some people are maxing out their credit cards to pay for presents and others are setting budgets and sticking with them. Scour just about any Facebook stream or stop in a local coffee shop and chances are you’ll hear parents debating the merits of setting spending limits. Or, you'll hear them lamenting about just how much they've already spent. The ideas for a perfect limit do seem to vary rather greatly. Some parents say $100 per child is more than enough. Walmart Pushes Back Black Friday Opening in Rhode Island

The retail giant has already released its Black Friday sale circular online.

Shoppers in Rhode Island and Massachusetts will have to wait until after Thanksgiving to take advantage of Black Friday sales at retail giant Walmart. While Walmart locations across the rest of the country will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Massachusetts and Rhode Island’s Blue Laws prohibit the store to open that early in those two states. Instead, Walmart will open at 1 a.m., which is also the time many other retailers, including Target, plan to open for business on Black Friday.  Shoppers don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving to find out about the Black Friday sales at Walmart. The company already has released its circular for the sale. I am certainly glad to know my big sister can relax and enjoy her turkey stuffing without worrying about missing part of a sale. She now can run down there at Oh Dark One O'clock the next morning. Perhaps she will see her parrish priest there! Blue Laws, where is separation of church and State? So many rules promogated by religion. Can you tell I don't eat stuffing.   more ›

Poll: Is Black Friday Worth It?

Do you wake before dawn to fight the crowds in hopes of that great deal?

On Friday, November 25, Emerald Square Mall will open their doors at 4 a.m. to launch the holiday shopping season!The Providence Place Mall will open at 6 a.m. with retailers opening at special hours and the Warwick Mall will open at 7 a.m. Even Job Lot on Metacom Avenue in Warren will open up at midnight to offer sales for Black Friday. With Black Friday, dubbed the busiest shopping day of the year, quickly approaching we wonder who out there believes it is worth it to get up early and fight the crowds to get that great deal, or not! Let the employees enjoy a day off with their families. If these companies cat cut their prices that much in one weekend, then why cant they keep their prices down ALL YEAR LONG. Its all about the almighty dollar, the greed is really ruining this country.   more ›
