Exhibit Features Warren Artist's Work

Artwork by painter and textitle artist Deborah Baronas is part of the Fuller Craft Museum's members' exhibition.

Artwork by Warren and Barrington painter and textile artist Deborah Baronas goes on display today, Sept. 22, in the Fuller Craft Museum’s 2012 Biennial Members Exhibition. The exhibition runs at the Brockton museum through Feb. 10 next year. The museum is described as New England’s home for contemporary craft. An opening reception is planned for next Sunday, Sept. 30, from 1:30 to 5 pm. Baronas, who works out of a studio in the Cutler Mill in Warren, is one of 36 artists selected for the exhib. Baronas worked for 22 years as a designer and creative director in the textile industry before working full time as an artist. The 1979 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design brings her extensive knowledge of textiles to her work. She draws …

She Blends Painting, Social Media

Painter Debbie Miller of Barrington paints daily and masters the art of online commerce; meet her Saturday afternoon at an open house in her Warren studio.

You’ll find Debbie Miller painting a new picture and selling it online just about every day. She mixes her artistic and social media talent. The Barrington artist was not the first painter to use the Internet to peddle her work, which she describes as contemporary fine art. “But I think I was among the early users,” said Miller, who soon discovered a whole new community of artists out there. Miller is an active member of dailypainters.com, a website on which she posts a painting each day for collectors and other people to browse.  She also posts photos of her paintings to her own blog: debbiemillerpainting.blogspot.com.
