Frederick A. Siino, 88, of Bristol passed away on Jan. 13, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the retired Associate Director of the Rhode Island Health Department and proudly served in the US Army during World War II. There, as a 20-year-old Staff Sargent, he fought bravely for his country in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was honored with the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He also received the Purple Heart for being wounded in action. He attained a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Connecticut, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts program in Food Technology.
