Police arrested two suspects after recording their vehicle traveling more than 80 mph in a 35-mph zone.
Two Providence men are in custody following a reported high-speed pursuit Wednesday night that began in Bristol and ended in Seekonk, MA, with the suspects' vehicle crashing onto its side, followed by an on-foot chase. Just before 11 pm on Jan. 2., Bristol Police officers alerted departments in the area that they were pursuing a black Nissan Maxima. The car traveled through Warren and into Barrington, where the local officers reported losing sight of it. Barrington Police officers located the vehicle, and Seekonk Patrol Ofc. Fred Paquin and Det. A Bristol man is under arrest after leading police on a high-speed chase in Portsmouth early Tuesday morning ending in a crash according to the Sakonnet Times. Twenty-three year Cesar Smith of Burke Road in Bristol lead police on the chase after allegedly stealing a pickup truck from a Woodlawn Avenue residence in Bristol just after midnight Tuesday. During the chase Burke hit a Jersey barrier before crossing over the Mount Hope Bridge. According to the Sakonnet Times, the chase ended after Smith lost control of the truck after trying to make a right hand turn onto East Main Road from Bristol Ferry Road in Portsmouth, striking an occupied car then coming to rest near Clements market.
