The Rhode Island State Police announced the arrest of a former youth football and baseball coach and custodian at a local school on two counts each of first- and second-degree child molestation charges. In a statement released over the weekend, Col. Steven O'Donnell said that state and Bristol Police officers arrested Richard Perry, 55, of 50 Arlington Ave., Warren, following a six-month investigation. According to O'Donnell, Perry is a former Pop Warner football coach and Bristol Little League coach and umpire, and formerly worked as a custodian at Kickemuit Middle School. Although the act is reprehensible, I am not surprised nothing (allegedly) surfaced. Everyone knows everyone in Bristol and even minor cover ups are common.
