State Police Say More Reports Received about Former Coach [UPDATE]

Richard Perry, 55, faces four felony counts of child molestation based on testimony given by one alleged victim.

State Police Arrest Former Coach on Molestation Charges

Richard Perry, 55, of Warren, was indicted by a Providence County grand jury last Thursday.

  The Rhode Island State Police announced the arrest of a former youth football and baseball coach and custodian at a local school on two counts each of first- and second-degree child molestation charges. In a statement released over the weekend, Col. Steven O'Donnell said that state and Bristol Police officers arrested Richard Perry, 55, of 50 Arlington Ave., Warren, following a six-month investigation. According to O'Donnell, Perry is a former Pop Warner football coach and Bristol Little League coach and umpire, and formerly worked as a custodian at Kickemuit Middle School. Officers presented Perry for arraignment in Providence Superior Court on Dec. 13 before Magistrate Susan Kenny, who ordered Perry held without bail. Perry is …

Although the act is reprehensible, I am not surprised nothing (allegedly) surfaced. Everyone knows everyone in Bristol and even minor cover ups are common. I have witnessed a big time athlete sucker punch and injure a "regular" male in the high school. THE VICTIM WAS SUSPENDED......the athlete, NOTHING!!!!   more ›
