The Franco Coli Award winning troupe from Mt. Hope High School serenaded participants on Apr. 25.
Among the many attractions during the Apr. 25 kick-off for ART Night Bristol Warren were performances by the Mt. Hope Masqueraders, who used the event as a warm-up to their upcoming shows of Hello Dolly! set for May 9 through 12 at Mt. Hope High School. Jane Carney, lead photographer for the drama group, explained in a recent email that the ensemble performed "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" at Rogers Free Library and Alta Luna Gallery "for a very grateful audience" before taking the trolley to Cutler Mills in Warren to end the night. "All in all, the cast feels the night was very fun, eventful and a great chance to get the word out about our upcoming show," Carney wrote. It was an Encore Performance from the Mt. Hope Masqueraders with their production of "Beauty and the Beast". Every actor controlled their about opening night jitters and turned in an outstanding performance. This is a must see play for the whole family. Ava Callery is the perfect Belle. Tom Hanson is the perfect Beast. Both having vocal training, sang their songs beautifully. It is great casting of the enchanted household staff with Lumiere, played by Alex O'Hanley, entertaining the audience with his delightful voice and his witty banter. The object of his fun bantering was going on with Babbette played by Makaela Impagliazza. The actors had very good stage chemistry together. Cogsworth, played by CJ Gerhard , performed brilliantly in …

Mt. Hope Masqueraders took diners at Aidan's by surprise on Sunday afternoon when they filled the restaurant and broke out into song. The Masqueraders put on a flash mob performance at Aidan’s Pub on Sunday, to the delight and entertainment of the patrons and the staff. The flash mob was set up with the help of the Masquerader’s Parent Association and the support of Aidan Graham, owner of Aidan’s Pub. Students handed out fliers and performed “Be My Guest”, a hit song from the play, to advertise their spring musical. The Masqueraders say this week will be a great theater week with Guiteras students performing the play “ Seussical Jr.” at Guiteras School, and the Mt Hope Masqueraders performing the Disney musical “Beauty and the Beast”. The …

Some of the cast members of the Mt. Hope High School musical production of “Beauty and the Beast” joined the Easter Bunny at the Town of Bristol’s Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department. The Easter Egg Hunt was held on the beautiful grounds of the Blithewold Mansion. Some of these cast members will be returning on April 22 to host a tea at Blithewold. If you are interested in attending the tea, contact Blithewold to reserve a spot. The Easter Egg Hunt was well attended and the character of Belle drew as much attention as the Easter Bunny. Many children wanted to take their pictures with the characters. The cast did an impromptu performance of “Be my Guest” for the audience before the commencement of the …
