Credit Unions to Merge

Navigant and Columbus Credit Unions, which branches in the East Bay, plan to combine services by the end of the year.

Two local credit unions plan to merge, but service shouldn't be interrupted for Warren customers, according to Providence Journal reports. Navigant Credit Union and Columbus Credit Union — which has a branch at 560 Main St. in Warren — plan to merge, and will continue to operate under the Navigant name. Columbus Credit Union's two branches, in Warren and at 3 Crescent View Ave, in Riverside, will remain open, according to reports. Columbus employees will work for Navigant, and Columbus Credit Union members will have access to services at Navigant, which has 10 branches in northern Rhode Island and East Bay. The merger is subject to regulatory approval; the two credit unions hope to finalize the merger by the end of the year.
