Warren Police Seek Bank Robbery Suspect

The man, wearing a white baseball cap and red gloves, went to the Bank Newport in Warren on Apr. 29.

  Warren Police are seeking leads in an Apr. 29 bank robbery at the Bank of Newport branch on Market Street. According to Lt. Roland Brule, the male suspect did not show a weapon and left the bank at about 2:15 pm with an undisclosed amount of money. Surveillance camera footage shows a white male wearing a shite baseball cap, tan sweatshirt, red gloves, and sunglasses at the teller counter. Brule also said police are looking for anyone who may have been near the bank at that time and may have seen the suspect's vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Warren Police at 401-245-1311.

Bristol Man's Mercedes Simply Leaves Road

Barrington police and rescue responded last Thursday afternoon to a car simply driving off Wampanoag Trail into some trees.

  A Bristol man learned a lesson last week about keeping his eyes on the road while driving.  The man was heading south on the Wampanoag Trail about 3 pm on Thursday, Feb. 21, near Kyle Street, according to Barrington Police. The next thing he knew, he told officers, he was in a grove of trees off the road after apparently diverting his attention from the roadway.  The man said he was not hurt. He refused medical treatment from Barrington EMTs. His 2007 Mercedes was wedged up against a tree after it left the road. It was towed to a repair shop. There was no estimate of damage. The crash appeared to happen just as the man said, according to police. There was no indication that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The…

Warren Woman Arrested for DUI in Middletown

Tracy Butler, 54, is due for arraignment today.

  A Warren resident is due for formail arraignment today on a DUI charge following her arrest in Middletown on Jan. 3. Officers in that town stopped the car driven by Tracy Butler, 54, of 28 Brownell St., Warren, at about 11 pm on Saturday night after observing it traveling 47 mph in a 25-mph zone. According to Middletown Patch, Butler told police she was heading back to Warren and that she thought she was in Portsmouth. Blood-alcohol tests returned levels of .009 and .010, within the legal limit to drive, though officers reported they thought she may have been under the influence of narcotics and brought her to Newport Hostpital for blood tests. Bristol Man Arrested in Portsmouth on Domestic Assault Charge

  A Bristol man was sent to prison following his arrest on Jan. 29 by Portmouth Police. Following his arrest on one count of domestic simple assault, officers presented Christopher Adams, 24, for arraignment in Second District Court, Newport, where he was ordered held without bail for violating terms of a no contest plea from November, 2012, on an unrelated charge of larceny under $1,500 brought by Bristol Police. Portsmouth Police reported that they stopped the car driven by Adams on Tuesday at 9:15 am on Turnpike Avenue.  According to police reports, officers were first alerted to an alleged domestic dispute inside a vehicle, which was seen stopped on Bristol Ferry Road.
