Looking for the positive after the storm.
Yesterday I went to Rod’s Grille for breakfast with my friend Elizabeth. In the course of our lazy morning conversation I told her I had decided this week to make peace with the weather. No matter what, I would choose not to get upset by temperature or precipitation. “I’ll never understand why we complain about what we can’t control,” she said. There are legitimate reasons for complaint this time of year – treacherous sidewalks, injuries, and dangerous road conditions among them. But, there’s another kind of complaining, a sort-of general discontent that goes along with living in New England where you’re cold five months of the year.
