After a stint as interim Town Manager, former Police Chief Thomas Gordon, takes the helm in the permanent capacity.
Former Warren Police Chief Thomas Gordon is the new permanent Warren Town Manager, a job he has held on an interum basis since last December, eastbayri.com reports. The Warren Town Council voted unanimously last week to keep Gordon in the position he stepped into when former Town Manager C. Richard Paduch resigned late last year. The town received more than 20 resumes for the position, narrowing the list down to two — Gordon and Dan Coffman, of Newark, Ohio — before making its final decision Thursday. Former Town Manager Michael Abbruzzi will temporarily work as the town's assistant Manager.
The town of Warren will temporarily see an old face back in Town Hall to assist the interim Town Manager with town bond finances. The town of Warren has taken on former Town Manager Michael Abbruzzi has an assistant Manager for the town to aid interim Town Manager Thomas Gordon in dealing with some of the town's capital bonds. According to East Bay Newspapers, Abbruzzi will be part time and will be paid $45 an hour for a maximum of 15 hours per week. According to Cathie Tattrie of the Warren Town Council, Abbruzzi's temporary part-time position is not one that needs additional funding as it fills a void in the Town Hall. Former police chief Thomas Gordon will serve as Warren's temporary Town Manager.
In light of the abrupt resignation of Warren Town Manager, Richard Paduch, the Warren Town Council held a special meeting on Saturday afternoon to appoint an immediate temporary replacement for the position. Town Council President Chris Stanley began the meeting by reading Paduch's resignation letter aloud. "Please accept this as my resignation from the position of Town Manager effective at the close of business [day] Friday, November 18, 2011. Richard Paduch has resigned from his position as Warren's town manager.
As of the end of the day on Friday, Nov. 18, the Town of Warren is officially without a town manager. Warren Town Manager Richard Paduch submitted a resignation letter and served his last day in office on Friday. The council will be holding a special meeting on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. to consider the town's options moving forward and to formally accept Paduch's letter. At the meeting, the Council will appoint an interim manager to fill the space until a new Town Manager has been selected. Council President Chris Stanley says the Council is looking to appoint someone permanantly as soon as possible, but realistically, the position may not be filled until after the holidays.
