Water Authority Board Plans Do-Over on Legal Counsel Vote

The Bristol County Water Authority board decided Wednesday night to reopen interviews for legal counsel after hearing that the state open meetings law is 'unclear' on the issue.

  On the topic of legal counsel, it will be a do-over for the board of the Bristol County Water Authority. Board members voted unanimously on Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, to invite all of the finalists in the search for legal counsel to return and be interviewed again. If no one is interested, the board will stick with the choice it made on Dec. 20 to rehire its longtime attorney, Sandra Mack, a partner with Cameron & Mittleman of Providence. The board revisited the search on Wednesday because of criticism that its award for the legal services contract may have violated open meeting laws. Though in booklet for where this law is 86 little pages; when assembled in proper word format it equals about 28 pages. This is no health care law nor is it even a small book. It is about the size of your average childrens book to lean how to read. There lays the problem that has plauged this BCWA for so long.
