Not all believe the town is friendly to businesses.
The Warren Zoning Board gave two businesses permission to install signs larger than allowable by town ordinance. After considerable negotiation, Advanced Auto Parts on Metacom Avenue and Countrywide Gold Buyer and Gallery on Main Street were granted relief from an ordinance requiring businesses to keep signage to less than 20 feet per site. The businesses are not the first in town to seek signage that deviates from town code. The issue has become a hot topic since the town's Economic Development Board began working with the Warren Town Council on the issue.
