My name is Cynthia, aka Coupon Mama Massachusetts, the administrator of a couponing/frugal living blog and Facebook page that aims to help others find ways of living more comfortably in this depressing economy.

Although I now live in Dighton (which explains why I'm Coupon Mama Mass.), my heart still lives in Warren where I lived for most of my life.

I grew up the oldest child in a family of 6 - my mother was a housewife and my father worked on boats at Blount Marine. We were never "living large," but our family's financial stability plummeted after my father, who was the sole breadwinner, suddenly went into cardiac arrest and coded on our living-room floor when I was only 8.  Luckily, with the quick response and support from the Warren Volunteer Paramedics, my father survived. He suffered and survived many more heart attacks and a few cardiac episodes but I eventually I stopped counting.

Despite my family's lack of money and through all of these ordeals, my mother had great determination and most of all hope. My mother did whatever she could with what she had to make sure we had food on the table, clothes on our backs and a roof over our heads. This included crazy bargain hunting and bags upon bags (upon bags) of coupons.

I learned everything I know, especially my frugality (you could call it stinginess I suppose :-)  ), from my mother. And in these tough times, I'd like to extend what I know to you.
