Dozens Contact Bristol Police About Perrys
Up to 45 people — some of them potential witnesses — have spoken to police about the two brothers charged with child molestation, East Bay Newspapers reported.
Bristol Police confirmed this week that upwards of 45 people have contacted the local department about Richard and Jesse Perry, the brothers currently held at the Adult Correctional Institutions following their separate arrests on child molestation charges, East Bay Newspapers reported on Tuesday.
State Police , following a six-month investigation. Bristol Police arrested Jesse Perry, 59, on Jan. 4.

Richard Perry is scheduled to a bail hearing in Providence Superior Court tomorrow; Jesse Perry is due for a bail hearing on Jan. 18.
The website quoted Bristol Police Chief Josh Canario as saying that the local department had investigated claims of abuse by the Perrys in the 1990s, but the state attorney general's office declined to prosecute at the time.

Last year, Deputy Chief Steven Contente and other officers revisited the prior allegations and found two men, ages 23 and 31, who agreed to testify against the brothers, the website noted.
Canario told the newspaper that he feels the charges against Richard and Jesse Perry could lead to more victims and perpetrators.
Also on Tuesday, East Bay Newspapers reported that Fall River Police have filed weapons charges against Jesse Perry for having two pistols and a rifle without a Massachusetts gun permit.
Fall River Police said that officers found .38-cal. and .357-cal. handguns and a .22-cal. rifle in Jesse Perry's home following his arrest last Friday, according to a Jan. 8 article on eastbayri.com.
The website reported that the Massachusetts charges against Jesse Perry include possession of firearms without a state-issued permit; possession of ammunition without a permit; and improper storage of a firearm.
