Set the Pace for ALS Cure

There's still time to register for the fifth annual Finish for a Guinness 5K, scheduled for Sept. 1 at the Warren Waterfront.

An annual run in Warren to benefit ALS patients and their families reaches its fifth year with the Sept. 1 Finish for a Guinness 5K.

Created in honor of Christopher Stone, who died at 35, the road race offers $200 prizes for first place in men's and women's division and $100 for a new course record.

Will Sanders currently holds the 15:22 mark set in 2012. Jennifer Dagan also set her 18:26 women's record last year.

Runners start and end on the historic waterfront in Warren, with food from Blount and drinks from Guinness.

Start time is 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. Walk-up registration at 8:30.

Number pick-up is set for Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
